ESSEX'S U22 TEAM

The Essex Express U22 team is managed by Brian Brown. Brian has been with the nucleus of this team since they were 7 years old. The team has had an amazing year.

Recently ECTB has determined that this name ranked first in Maryland and 4th in the ECTB conference. They came in as runners-up as Team of the Year.

This team played in my BCML 15-19 division and finished the season 1st with a record of 22-1. They played in the Essex Tournament finishing 1st with a 6-0 record. They played in the Bowie 4th of July Blast in Bowie Maryland (BPA tournament) and finished with a 5-1 record. The finals were rained out so they were awarded co-champions. They played in the ECTB Clash of Champions, 18/19U, tournament (7/07) in Birdsboro, PA finishing 4th with a 5-1-1 record. In this tournament there was a field of 12 teams competing from as far north as New York and as far south as South Carolina. They then played in the Champion Baseball Academy tournament - Wood Bat Invitational Tournament at State College, PA. Here they finished 1st with a 5-1 record. There were 8 teams competing in this tournament. They played in my BCML 15-19 Fall ball league and end of the season tournament finishing 1st with a 15-1 record. Over the Christmas holidays they travelled to Florida to play in the USSSA Winter World Championship 18/19U tournament. They finished 3rd with a 5-2 record. They played against many teams who play all year. With this win, they were given a birth to the ECTB Nationals. USSSA ranked them 3rd in Maryland and 31st in the USSSA rankings.

In 2007, they played in the Susquehanna Unlimited League, playing mostly teams with college players and well-seasoned veterans of baseball. They finished their season in 4th place with a 27-7 record.

In June of 2007, they won the ECTB National Championship Series (18-19U) with a 7-0 record winning against teams from Ontario, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.
