2010 Essex Express Labor Day Shootout

The Essex Baseball Program will be holding their first Labor Day tournament, September 4, 5 and 6, 2010. There are TWO divisions - the Recreation Division and the Open Division. There is a 3 game guarantee. Each team will be playing 2 games on Saturday, September 4^th, for seeding purposes. Single elimination will begin on Sunday, September 5th. The semi-finals and the finals will take place on Monday, Labor Day, September 6th. There will be a MAXIMUM number of teams of 16 per age group. Proof of insurance required for teams other than Baltimore County teams.

Rec Div Baseball: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14

Open Div Baseball: U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U16 and U19

Age determination: May 1, 2010 determines age group.

Entry: All entries are due by Sunday, August 22, 2010. We will not accept more than 16 teams per age group with a minimum of 4 teams per age group. The Rec Division is designed for teams who are participating in some type of in-house program during the spring of 2010 to be eligible. Open Division is open to all teams, including Club, American Legion, Metro, MABA teams, etc. If possible, we will have single age groups in the Open Division (U8, U9, etc) with a minimum of 4 teams. If there are not enough teams to do single age groups, then we will combine the age groups to Open U8, Open U10, etc.

Draw: Rosters (maximum 18 players) and entry fees are due on August 22, 2010. You must have an email address as all information will be available via email and the website. There will be no draw per se. Teams will be randomly selected during the seeding rounds. More information will be emailed. All managers or travel coordinator signatures on Rosters confirm adherence to all rules.

Entry Fee: $200.00 per team. Make checks payable to: Essex Baseball. Paperwork and fees must be mailed prior to August 22, 2010. Mailing address is: P. O. Box 34104, Essex, MD 21221. PLEASE FAX a copy of the paperwork to 410-687-7811 or EMAIL a copy to bat4essex@aol.com so that your spot in the Tournament can be secured while we are awaiting your mailed paperwork. There will be 1^st and 2^nd place team trophies and 15 individual medallions.

Umpires: Each team will be responsible for the umpire fees. Rates will be posted on internet.
